Hello from Maryland. Total bicycle newbie. I have an awesome tool set.

Hey all, Im Jeff from Md. Ive been building motorcycles, vintage tyoe stuff, for a while. I have more & more been admiring simple, elegant, single speed & fixed gear bikes and would like to start building a few.

Any helps appreciated, Ive been on a few good forums for years. I understand the benefits of info, & the respect due to long term members.

Thank, Jeff

Welcome aboard. Checkout the Classic and Vintage section.
If you will be making your own frame, there's also a section for that.

If there's a bike co-op in your area, check it out. The people there could help you build a fixie/single speed for yourself, and you may be able to volunteer there to learn more. It's worked for me.

Either way, ride, ride, ride.

snydermann, you got my Joke.

sprayman, thank you, thats a good idea, Id not heard of a bike co-op, one more for me to search. It would be relaxing.

Interceptor, Thanks as well, frames maybe later, for my first one (first real one) I have a specialized expedition alum frame that naked as a starting point. Im presently trying to search the BB bearing set. It mics out at 68mm wide, & 34mm inside the threads, just trying to figure out how to determine what width, 107, 110, 120 etc.
