Truly terrible.
Hello everyone.
I put up with a truly terrible bike for many years. I went to buy a new bike recently and found one just right for me. The only problem was it was really boring, and I could not bring myself to shell out the cash for something that I felt so disinterested in. So, I’ve started tinkering with old bikes. I have often found answers to my questions in this forum, so I thought I would join you all. I truly love my 531 based bike and will continue to try and maintain and improve it with your help. Perhaps one day I will know enough to help someone else. Thanks to all those who contribute to the forum.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I stalked the forums quite a while doing the same thing fortune cookie. Glad to see there are others out there that have fun tinkering. Don't know where I would have learned half the stuff without this place. Welcome.

Welcome aboard! Come on over to c&v! It's not too hard to get a nice older bike that's close, and then make it fit exact.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I will check out C&V tomorrow (I am trying to set up my gears tonight). I am not sure about putting up any pictures of my 531 bike at the moment DEK but I will do after a bit more tampering.
Looking forward to checking out C&V, and thanks again for all your replies.
