Hello From Santa Barbara

Hi Everyone!

I just joined the forum and thought I'd introduce myself. I started biking in May. It was bike month and thought it would be a challenge to try not to use my car for the entire month. I was successful and did everything on my mountain bike; too and form work, grocery shopping, visiting friends etc. I'd also go for rides along the beach during my lunch break at work. When September rolled around, I had only driven my car to work about 5 times (but started using my car for convenience on other trips) and logged just over 1000 miles.

I then took the next serious step in cycling. I signed up for a metric century and bought a road bike. I've only had the road bike for 2 weeks, but I think it's fantastic.

I look forward to many miles, reading the forums and posting comments and experiences.

P.S. Here's a pic of my new ride

Welcome to the forum! That's a nice bike - I have two Specialized bikes myself.

Stop by the Southern California regional forum and say hello.

Welcome from Ventura County. Santa Barbara is a nice place to ride. I will be riding there this Sunday.

I encourage you to enter the American Diabetes Assoc. Tour de Cure to be held in Santa Barbara on Nov. 17.

Cheers.
