Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself...

Hello all. Just joined after lurking for years.

I got into road biking 5 years ago and really enjoy it. It's a good workout for a retired rugby and hockey player whose 44 year-old joints aren't quite so springy anymore. I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie (like skiing and mountain climbing too) so cycling fast (but safely) is really fun.

I just bought a Serotta Colorado (63cm) and am really thrilled with the fit and the ride (my first frame was a too small Giant OCR--didn't realize how scrunched up I was until I rode the Serotta a few hundred miles).

I am married 11 years and we now a have 1 year-old son. I cannot wait to get him cycling, hiking, skiing, etc. Hopefully that will keep him out of trouble.

Nice to meet you!

... I'm a man of wealth and taste.

welcome to BF.
Serotta huh? nice bike.
I sold mine for the same reason you sold the Giant.
isn't it amazing how good a properly fitted frame feels?

...I've been around for a long long time. . .

Howdy, HungryJack!

If'n you're really an adrenaline junkie and into skiing and mountain climbing...you should come over to the dark side and check out mountain biking. You don't have to ride dangerously to get addicted to flowy singletrack and awesome scenery. It's like skiing...on wheels!

Welcome.

Ha ha. The Dark Side. I am a firm believer in beer, I mean good beer like the stuff made at Three Floyds or Half Acre or [name your favorite local brewery not named AB,MillerCoors, etc.]

Maybe when Little Hungry gets a bit older we can MTB some. Here in Chicago, it's mostly road cycling. And thank God for properly fitted frames.

I read that, and was like AB? What's wrong with AB? It took me a good 30 seconds before realizing you weren't talking about Stone's Arrogant Bastard.
