Introduction
Hi,
I am new to this forum. A friend of mine bought a Mercian frame in the 80's, a basic road bike version, and never built it. He is offering it to me. I joined the forum to determine if it is worth outfitting and building this frame or am I better off going with something newer. That is, are newer frames and components better than what I could put on an 80's Mercian.
I ride in Portland, OR. I am not a strong rider at all but enjoy riding 5-15 miles a day. Portland is a great place to ride.
Glad to meet you all.
Mark

Welcome to BF. I can't answer the specific question about whether that frame is worth it or not but it could be fun and a definte learning experience.
