Hey from Houston
Hello to everyone on BF from Houston Texas! I recently started riding everyday for about 2 months and I completely love it. I used to ride all the time as a kid but as I grew up I out grew my bikes and grew into cars.
Last June I had a pretty bad motorcycle accident and broke my right raidius, ulna , tibia fibula and did a number to my right foot ( had to reconstruct it ).I was hit from behind, flew through a telephone pole and into a parking lot. I was in the hospital for three weeks (terrible!!!) and have had two more surgeries on my tibia since then. I had a bone graft and a rod replacement ha! So lets just say I gained some weight and am way out of shape.
My Doc told me that cycling would be good for my health and that it would premote bone growth so I fixed up my single gear Steyr and have been biking everyday for two months. I absolutely love it! I bike on average ten miles a day to and from school and on the weekends I put in 50 miles. I feel so free and I am finally able to get active again and sweat. My dad and I fixed up a Bottecchia and gave it to me so now I have two bikes to commute and enjoy. I am riding everyday to and from school and I don't miss driving a car at all!
I just want to say thanks for everyone on here who has helped me out with great information for noobs like me.

Hey Maurice, I'm a local Houston as well! Except I'm a noobie compared to you lol. Glad to hear you're recovering well from your accident.
