Hi From WI and Thank You to Bike Forums

I just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you to the bike forums for the information I have found here the past year. I live in southwestern Wisconsin's driftless area-a beautiful area of hills, valleys and spring fed creeks, and some great back road bicycling. I bought a Tricross last September and a Trek FX WSD for my wife. I have ridden over 4000 miles since last September, lost almost 40 pounds and we just finished a 550 mile route across WI from south to north. We had a great time and look forward to another tour. We like seeing the landscapes and small towns of WI at 12mph. I was helped greatly by reading the bike forums, especially the touring forum. Thank you.

40 pounds and 550 miles, huh? Those are some impressive stats! Glad to have you aboard!

That's impressive! You'll have to share some of your routes . . . have you done the Sugar River Trail from Brodhead to New Glarus yet? We did it this past summer and enjoyed staying in New Glarus and visiting the brewery!!! Congratulations on your attainments.

We live about 15 miles west of New Glarus, so I incorporate the Sugar River Trail into some of our rides. Also, try taking the trail from Monticello to Monroe. Monroe is a very nice small town and you need to have lunch at Baumgartner's on the Square. We are also fortunate to live 15 miles or so south of Mt. Horeb and the Military Ridge State Trail. Biking has been another way for us to experience southwestern WI.
