Steve from Manitoba, Canada
Hello all. I'm Steve, and I have a drinking problem.....whoops! Wrong forum!
Ahem!
Hello all. I'm Steve. I currently live in the prairie province of Manitoba, Canada. I'm in the military so have lived and biked in a lot of places here in Canada. Except for British Columbia which is unfortunate since that seems to be where the Mountain Biking Mecca is.
I have typically rode Walmart or SEARS specials all my life until a few years ago. I decided to get a little more serious about biking since my knees were starting to bother me and running was starting to kill me.
So I bought a Specialised Hardrock from my local bikeshop and I was hooked. Having a salesman who knew what they were doing and properly fitted a bike to me was a lifechanging experience.
Since then, i've expanded my stable to include a Salsa Mukluk snowbike to help deal with the Manitoba winters.
I haven't quite got the wife and kids as hooked as I am yet, but I'm working on it.
I've also since started working on my own bikes as a Padawan Mechanic in terms of maintenance mostly, but have gotten into some repair as well, including having built the Mukluk from a frame. All under the watchful eye (and patience) of a bike mechanic friend.

Welcome Steve ! Good luck with getting your wife and kids into it, it would be the best thing to happen to them.

LET'S ROLL
Welcome aboard, I know it's hard to
get our partners to ride; but usually
the kids are easier to convince
