To the fellows on the board.
I have a Giant CRS and a 79 Vintage Peugot 103 thats been in the family since new and used on a traxx roller for the last decade.
Rode everywhere untill 95, when my then bike was stolen(bike sold as MTB, but was more or less a tourer),in a fit of falling for the marketing ploy, I then bought a MTB with a horrible, horrible fit (21 inch frame for my 6`8" carcass) and fell out of the cycling habit.
After ten years a blinding flash of the obvious occurred and I bought a new, fitting bike that was promptly stolen, after just 8 hours of riding. Bought the Giant and have a couple of outings on it, its somewhat fitting but much to soft to the afore mentioned height combined with 275ish pounds of bodyweight as well.
Having way to much time on my hands for the moment, I`m speculating and doodle around the ideal one bike to do it all, which is what I grew up with, tackling everything from the school run, to week long tours in the woods.
I`m a hopelessly Anglophile and discovered the "british tourer" bike ideal last year, which seems to be somewhat to my wish for a "one bike" thingy.
I`m awaiting the release of the 64 cm Surly LHT frame and will build my (hopefully) ideal bike on that.
Anyhow, glad to be onboard.
