I is a middle aged, over-weight, gen-x, ex-part-time light commuter / ex-occasional weekend warrior wanting to get back in the saddle for exercise and recreation this time.
I've been learning a lot more than I ever have in trying to decide what would be my best approach, and many times in searching for info I am pointed to these forums. Seemed to make sense to join a well built community to hopefully learn some more, maybe get more motorvation and the like.
My neighborhood isn't the most conducive to road biking, no lanes for miles, up hill is cracked asphalt and dirt roads, downhill a little better, but I don't really care to go downhill first. Maybe I'll learn to like it. I live in So AZ and the summer here can be brutal. Especially if you ill-prepare or get careless.
In a nutshell I am not a hardcore cyclist by any means and I'm probably bound to put my foot in my mouth at some point(s). Hopefully I can earn a pass for some of them.
