Bike Forums - Young cyclist with many aspirations

Hey there, my name is connor and im 20 years old from New Jersey. I have been on a bike since I was three years old then got into the bmx scene as I became a teenager. Soon i discovered road riding and got a road bike where I eventually was able to join a cycling team. I raced on Team Colavita junior cycling team from the time I was about 14 until I was about 18. Additionally, my first job was in my LBS. After growing out of the age categories for junior cycling I kept riding but stopped racing. After a break of a year or so I landed a different job at another one of my LBS, and then found a new passion. My new LBS sponsors a mountain bike series in North NJ called the Campmor H2H series. Of course that alsong with my co-workers influenced me to buy a mountain bike and hit the trails. Last year was my first season racing cross country mountain and I managed to place 7th overall. I love the sport now and will be racing again to 2012.

As far as bikes I own and ride, I admit I need to slim down my stable as I have grown a large collection. Im passionate about the lifestyle of cycling and am very interested in single speeds, fixies (wannabie hipster) and more recently into the idea of replacing my clunker of a car completely for commuting by bike.

I hope to talk to some mountain bikers from my area and elsewhere, along with learning how to deal with the many challenges of commuting by bike daily.
