Howdy

Howdy folks. I just found this BB and it looks like a great place to communicate with other cyclists. I suppose the normal deal is to introduce myself. Well, I'm an avid cyclist but not hardcore. I ride both road and dirt. I'm 46 years old and have been riding off and on for about 15 years. Just last year I started to ride again after about a 4 or 5 year hiatus. My work schedule only allows me to get out a couple of times a week. If I ride road I like to get in about 25 miles. If it's on dirt I try to find time for a solid hour+ ride. The rest of the time I have to suffer through 30-45 minutes on the hotel treadmill (I travel a lot for business). I currently have three bikes: Surly Crosscheck for the road; an Ellsworth X/C MTB and a Surly singlespeed MTB. If I could only have one I'd keep the Crosscheck. I've been through a few road bikes over the years and I really like the way I have my bike set-up these days. I'm running fairly fat touring tires and a Ritchey cyclocross double crankset (48/38). On the back is an XTR derailleur and a 32T cassette. I never really could push a 53x12 unless I was going downhill so the closer ratios and smaller gears of the double work well for me. It's a bit heavy but buttery smooth. Steel's the deal. I guess my old school is showing through. Well, enough about me. It's nice to meet ya. See you on the road (or dirt).
