Greetings from Suburban Maryland

Glad to be "official" after reading many threads over the past several years in my many gear head moments...road rider who tries to put in over 100 miles a week, have done 8 or so century-level rides since June on an R2000 (yes, on the Ksyriums) and looking forward to some long tours in Europe next year....appreciate all the wealth of knowledge here and especially the reality checks I get when I just have to have that new piece of gear!!!

Greetings from Baltimore City,

I am not using Ksyriums(yet)

I have Mavic Cosmic wheels but they require long valve stems and the tire must be removed to true them.

I prefer semi-profiled or non aero common spoked wheelsets.

I use Mavic Cosmos(clincher) and Mavic Reflex(tubular) wheelsets.

I wouldn't worry about the lack of replies. Everyone's probably either outside enjoying the unseasonably warm weather, staying inside and fondling their cycling gifts from the holidays, or recovering from New Year's Eve I hope you get the chance to do the long tours in Europe - what a fantastic experience!

I ride with a couple of local friends and just joined Potomac Peddlers but have not done any rides yes, planning to try a Virignia ride once the weather improves a bit, hoping to get a little climbing in, as in suburban Maryland around DC its hard to find longer more challenging cilmbs..

I went to NC State! Go Pack!

ksyriumsteed: I plan on doing some Potomac Peddlers rides this year, too. I probably won't see you, since I really don't seek out hills...but you never know.

I used to lead rides for Potomac Pedalers back in the day!

Anway, for hillier rides in the DC area, try Catoctin Mtn and South Mountain near Frederick, MD. or Mt. Weather (I think) near Bluemont, VA. Otherwise, you've got to go all the way out to the Shenandoahs and Skyline Parkway.
