Howdy from Oklahoma
Found this forum while doing some research into which hybrid I'm going to buy in the next few months. After some test rides (with one more remaining), my budget and riding habits have me narrowed down to a Trek 7.2 or a Jamis Coda Sport. I want to ride a larger framed Coda to get the feel. I'm basically having the Aluminum vs. steel debate with myself (not posting that on certain forums around here after seeing the nuclear exchanges in the past!)
I'm 43, probably fit the profile of an entry-level Clyde (6'2", 220lbs.)
My ride for the last 21 years has been a Raleigh Talon MTB that I change out tires and other components for on and off road riding. While I am going to enjoy a newer and more nimble hybrid, my "mule" is still going to be my trail/off road bike of choice.
One area that keeps me riding and interested in biking is that I've worked with the Boy Scouts for many years. I am a Cycling Merit Badge counselor. Watching many younger boys who start the program barely getting through 10 miles, only to see them feel like a champ when they knock out a 50 miler at the end of the program is very rewarding to me!
I'm currently thrilled that my 12 year old daughter simply can't be on her bike enough. She rides with me a lot, and is pestering me for some 20 mile rides.
I enjoy browsing these forums, and look forward to some interaction. It would be fair to say that I more "lurk" than post on most Internet forums, but I hope to converse with many of you soon!

Question - I've seen some good reports lately about the Tulsa bike trail system. I'm in Tulsa on occasion and would love to get a good 40 mile trail ride with minimum street crossings. Do you have any suggestions on a good trail/combo ride in Tulsa? Thanks!

I'm no trail expert, but I think they are rather nice. I usually ride from Sheridan and the Creek Turnpike to somewhere on Riverside. I have to cross two streets (Yale and Harvard) that have traffic. On Riverside, there are a few places where you have to cross the entry to a parking lot (the casino). Other than that, the trail goes under the rest of the streets. East of my ride there are two necessary street crossings that I know of (Sheridan and Memorial). Here are the links to the map of the trails.
