whats up forum? i ride road and mountain. I've had nice bikes, but i've had some real basic 'beaters' too. I like any bike (except the department store knock-offs) that is taken care of and ridden. I like steel. i like aluminum (klein quantum). i like carbon. i like titanium. i like leather. i like cork. i like disc, but i like coaster just as much (i even like drum!). i like brooks. i like nitto. i like almost all of it. But, I especially agree with the philosophy of companies like Rivendell bike works and Peter White cycles. basically, i'm in it for the fun, not for the trophy.
