NW Georgia New Rider!

Hi all!
I have always wanted to purchase a bike and since I recently moved 50 yards from the entrance of a major Georgia trail (Silver Comet), I figured it was time to buy the bike. I can't wait to ride! (Had to order the bike at the shop). I'm already looking at charity rides and fun events to join. Great to be here!

Welcome to the BikeForums. You might checkout the MS 150 as a fun (albeit long) charity event. The first time I rode it I used a mountain bike with slick tires (for the road).

Thanks for the welcomes!

10 Wheels - Well after asking around a bit, I found that the Trek 7.2 WSD was just right for my needs and current budget. I will definitely be easing into the bike scene however being so close to a great paved bike path, I have no excuses not to get in seat time.

Sachelis, thanks for the reminder on the MS ride. I had a co-worker with MS who used to ride that every year on a tandem bike with her hubby. Definitely a worthy cause! Since I just missed the May ride, the Sept ride is a great goal to start training for.
