New user from the Houston area
Howdy! New user to the forums and so far I have found some great info to use. I have not seriously biked since college and then it was a mode of transportation more than anything else. My wife and I have a goal to ride the Bike Around the Bay in October and are beginning our training regiment.
The goal seems very lofty from where we stand now, but are confident that we can get there with a good schedule. I will be frequenting these boards for training, mechanical, and other practical info that I can get hold of.

I am in LC also....moved here about a year ago from Austin. I have a Haro V3 MTB that I bought while in Austin and enjoyed trail riding and some road riding. I have taken it out for some lunch time rides in the area, but am looking to do more with it (MTB slicks will probably be a first). My wife has a Marin hybrid that she has not rode much at all. We plan to hook with some local rides once we get our bodies in tune with some stationary bike time.

Welcome aboard. I'm a bit north of you, but I get down to that area now and then, as I have family there. I was also thinking of doing the bike around the bay. Sounds like a good route.

It does seem like a good route and should be challenging yet rewarding once we complete it. I know that my wife has talked about doing the MS150 and I imagine that if we are successful with this adventure the MS150 would be next on the list.
