Semi-Noob to Road riding
Hi all:
I started road riding last August, and have been an average "intermediate" mountain biker for 5 years so qualify myself as a semi-noob to roading. Did my 1st Century with 2.5 months training last fall in about 6:30. Quick question: Did a 4 hour road ride yesterday and loaded 90 oz of fluid in my hydration pack, along with usual tools, pump, nutrition, etc. Boy, did my back hurt! So should I move to putting 2 cages on the bike and hauling my hydration in bottles, vs the camelback? Thanks in advance for your input. Congo Kid |
Each to their own, I can only tolerate a very small camelback for any real distance...and not if its hot, and not for tool storage...period So, I say put the weight on your frame, not your back.
