Hi Peeps! Embarassing/Funny story about Panniers :**
I'm a casual biker so I don't really explore many biking forums. But as a casual rider, I thought I'd share a funny story and little recommendation for the fellow newbies as well....
I just bought a pair of Ortlieb Classic Back Roller Classic panniers from The Randonnee Shop via their website (https://www.therandonneeshop.com). I am SUPER happy with the purchase and glad I went with the Classic version because of the PVC construction vs the Plus version. Its like a freakin' tank.
I did however *think* that I had a problem with one of the Panniers, as it seemed to have a stripped screw. So I contacted The Randonnee Shop regarding it and had a free replacement shipped to me within 2 days with prepaid return shipping for the broken one. Theeeeeeeeeeen I realized...I am a moron. The screw was NOT actually stripped, I was using an INCHES allen wrenche instead of a METRIC one. DOH! For whatever reason, the inches set was able to adjust every screw but the one so I thought it was the screw...turns out it was me.
I contacted The Randonnee Shop to apologize and offer to reimburse them for the shipping but they let me off the hook with a simple "no worries."
SO...what did we leeeeeeeeeearn:
1.) If you are going to buy a bag from GERMANY, get the right tools as it will be metric.
2.) If you want some great customer service (when it generally no longer exists), head to The Randonnee Shop. They were excellent all around.
