Hello from Oklahoma
Wanting to say hello, and advise I came here with an ulterior motive, in wanting to find info on an old bicycle found doing a shed clean-out for a friend of my Mom. It'll probably take a few comments before I can post photos anyway, so that'll have to wait. While signing up here with basically no present interest in bicycling it occurred to me the importance bikes have played in my life. I spent many happy hours on a bike during my formative years, and believe it was the reason my legs developed as well as they did. I was never a very large fella, always average or even under average size, but years later, when I found myself working as a Derrick man on an offshore drilling rig, when racking pipe in the derrick, I managed to overcome my disadvantages in size through the use of my legs, and even came to make it look easy. Many would be surprised upon finding such a "small fella" to be a derrickman, in those days there were very few derrickmen who didn't have to turn their shoulders sideways when going through a doorway, and even though I did too, to some extent, i never had to duck my head at the same time ; ) I think it also helped when I first went to the city and wrode lots of busses, many times I'd just take off walking, many days doing 20 or more miles with no real problem. Yep, I believe I owe it all to that old bike
I've joined several forums such as this, basically in quests for info, but usually hang out on the Scrap Metal Forum or sometimes at the Vintage Computers one.
Anyway, thanks for being here, and for having me aboard

Ha! Thanks 10 wheels, it's sure too hot now. Man, I spent a summer there in 81 or 82, rebuilding our drilling rig at Todd Shipyard, that was a pure hell hole, on the back side of that island, not even a breeze back there. We'd make up for it after work though and head for the beaches, 12 hours on the rig, 12 hours at the beach, it's a wonder any of us made it through that summer ; )
