Hello from Hattiesburg, Mississippi
I turned 62 yesterday. I just purchsed my wife and myself recumbents to start riding again. We both rode Giant Cypress DX's for thousands of miles until about five years ago. We stopped after I had an accident. We tried to start back on them, but it was just uncomfortable for our backs, hence the recumbents, She rides a Sun EX-1 Super Cruiser, and I just got in my RANS Tailwind today. I got it put together, but can not figure out the cable, shift, and brake setup. Going to the bike shop in the morning. Do you think a bike shop that is not a RANS dealer can fix it? Glad I found this forum. Lot's of information here and great people.
Thanks,
Bill

Howdy Bill,
Congratulations on making it to 62.
A good bike mechanic should be able to help you.

Welcome to Bike Forums! As long as the shop has a good mechanic, I'm sure the shop will be able to help.

Hiya bicyclebill1,
Your post from Hattiesburg caught my eye as I lived in Biloxi for about 11 years. Moved back North just before the hurricane but sure do miss the place. I was in Hattiesburgh several times for tennis tournaments. You have a couple of very nice clubs there. I usually hang out on the 50+ - see you over there.

Yo Bill,
At the time I was playing lots of tennis and racing on a sailboat. The entire Gulf cost is a great place for tennis as one can play year 'round. I saw some spectacular tennis facilities. For example, Mobile has a tennis complex with 60 tennis courts.
I also spent a lot of time racing on a sailboat. It happened that the owner of that boat owned a liquor store. Although they were a really fine bunch of guys, I found it necessary to leave that scene while my liver still functioned. I still have two beer mugs from the Pensacola Yacht Club we won for a week-end race series.
I did not ride a bike in those days but in the back of my mind is a ride of the Natchez Trace. I sure miss the deep South.
