Hi from France !

Hello

I'm Maxime, 24 years old and I live in France (Lille exactly), I usually ride an old rusted 10 speed Peugeot from the '70s (UO8, I think) and I'm currently restoring/upgrading it for daily commuting and cyclotourism...

This board is amazing, it's probably the world largest source of information about these kind of old french bike

Welcome to Bike Forums, Maxime! If you go to the vintage section here, you probably will get lots of information on how to restore your bike! Have fun!

Hi Maxime, I'm new here as well :-)

There are still quite a few of those older Peugeot's here in the US, my wife still has her UO8. The one she has is the ladies version with the two lowered top tubes which run to the rear dropouts forming an additional set of stays. It is metallic green and it too has lots of rust spotting :-|

We have plans on cycling the Canal du Midi next summer. Have you cycled any of the canals?

Bests,
David
