New to bikes
Hello all,
I am pretty much brand new to bikes as I haven't ridden one since I was a child. I am getting in to biking for fitness and hopefully to eventually do some longer rides. My ultra longterm goal is the 430 mile ride for Semper Fi to benefit injured Marines and their families (My husband is a combat injured Marine) but that is quite a while in the future.
My husband and I just bought two new Specialized road bikes after lurking on the forum for a few weeks reading about what to look for. We test rode bikes from Giant, Trek, Specialized and Fuji and we both ended up liking the Specialized best. I ended up with a Dolce sport compact with Sora and my husband got a Sectuer compact also with Sora. We just picked the bikes up tonight along with Helmets, shorts, and assorted little things but since it was dark when we got home I have only ridden about half a mile around my block. I will post some pics and I apologize in advance for the sub-par cell phone quality.
Here is the husband's bike.

Welcome to Bike Forums. I think you'll both enjoy the bikes.
Post more pics when you do the Semper Fi ride. Have fun.

Thanks guys. I have only ridden about 1/2 mile around my block because i don't have lights yet, but I think I'm hooked. This is so much more fun then jogging and if I can train myself up well enough I am hoping that I can start doing some half centuries by 2013.
