Hi from Eva
I joined this because I have been researching for many months about what kinds of bikes to get: commuting; mountain; touring. I have a carbon road bike I love, but my commuting bike really sucks, and I have no mountain or touring bike. I am mainly a recreational bicyclist but I really should push myself to commute to work more and I plan on doing some bicycle tours (never done one).

Cheers Eva and welcome to the Forums. Be careful with that touring stuff, it can become an addiction. Ask me how I know.

Hey Eva, welcome aboard. I personally like the mountain bike idea. You can do so much on fat tires and they are very durable. You can also put commuting tires on it and get around town really well. Then if you ever get the bug to try some trail riding you put on some knobby tires and away you go. Post some pics of your decision either way.
