Good morning from Florida
After 20+ years off a bike, and packing on pounds,I've decided to return to cycling for exercise. At 6 foot 2 and 290 pounds, I fall into the Clyde category pretty well. However,if I had known how good bikes had become, I would have started again sooner. 4 weeks in, I've put almost 100 miles on my used 2009 Trek 7100. Having fun remembering all I forgot about riding.

Hey Podagrower ...
Central FL here too (Orlando) ... Clyde as well (6'2, 265) ... and after lurking on Bikeforums for a while ... finally posting for the first time.
I moved to Orlando from Wisconsin about a year ago - and this was the first time Ive experienced this kind heat and humidity ... it must have rained every single day from June through September!
I've been a bike commuter for about 3 years now. In Wisconsin it was about 5 miles each way - and yes, in the snow and ice. In Orlando, its about 3 miles each way ... and yes, in the heat and rain. I must say - its more miserable commuting in 90 degree heat than -10 degree cold.
See you out there sometime!

Welcome from Tallahassee. I got back on last year after over 30 years away. Although I grew up in the north. I've lived in hot climates most of my adult life (here for the last 20 years) and don't mind summer riding at all. In fact, I really love those stultifying days when it's 96 degrees with relative humidity to match.
