I am a newbie to cycling and I need help! LOL.....

I have not ridden a bicycle since the age of 19...I am far beyond that age and looking to incorporate cycling into my cardio as I am a BBuilder looking to rip-up and cut-up. I am told that cycling is one of the best ways to do this. I have no clue as to how to do this and would welcome any help I can get from those who are advanced, or intermediate or even other beginners, (anyone has more experience then I do at this point)...LOL...
(If someone can tell me how to post a picture of myself in my profile I would be most grateful as I am not very tech saavy....<sigh>)

Cheers and welcome. Sounds like you should head over to our Training and Nutrition subforum and start asking questions there.

Well, that's the closest we have to a training specific forum. Is there a reason you cannot skip the nutrition specific threads in there and concentrate on the training aspect?

Agree to check out the Training and Nutrition forum to get some advice on the training aspect. Then figure out what kind of bike you want and check that subforum to get advice on what kind of bike to buy.

Thanks....found my answers in "Nikes"; subforum; "HybridBikes"....

I MEANT TO SAY BIKES IN THE TITLE, NOT NIKES! LOL...I was told in this forum that I should seek advice in a "nutrition section" in another forum...I am already a VERY well conditioned, well nitritioned athlete; in fact, a body builder who competes. I wanted to used cycling as another way of cutting up and was asking for information about bikes and bike types....suggestions if you will on types that "might" suit me...while each bike is specific to its owner, I was given a place to start in another forum here in Bikes Forum. I found everyone's contribution to be very helpful and I am extremely grateful to each and every one of them. I am so glad that I did not get discouraged and turn away after being told to start at the "nutrition" level and ask advice after informing the first forum that I was already a highly conditioned athlete. I am very grateful for the fact that Bike Forums has many forums to turn to and investigate or I would have stopped looking right there and not found the answers I so badly needed in the second forum I spoke about earier where i found my answers. Now, armed with this new knowledge, I can go out there and make the choices that will add that new level of fitness to my already complex routine of fitness and help me to become an even better athlete....I love how one can evolve through the knowledge found in other sports....cycling is truly a new marvel in my life and I love it!
