Just Started Commuting
Hi everyone. Been lurking for a couple of days and decided to jump on in the family here. I'm one of those folks that drug up the old mountain bike from the garage and decided to use it for commuting to work. I desperately needed something that gave me regular exercise, and my wife and I are always trying to do things more green and reducing use of cars and things.
I first started biking about 1 mile to the park the ride, and taking the bus to the area where I work, then walking the last 2 blocks. My wife had a really nice mountain bike that was not really getting used so I tried it out one Friday, riding the 12 miles to work. Not too bad and rode it back again at the end of the day. Now it's my second week of bike commuting and I'm starting to think of things to make it easier and better. Which is what brought me here to the community.
