Greetings from Kansas

Salutations from South central Kansas. A blog I was reading pointed me to this spot, so here I am! I am an avid cycler, although probably not in the sense that you are used to. I commute by 40 year old or older coaster bike. Right now during the winter, I am riding a 1960's Gambles middle weight. I usually ride every day unless it is raining (I spend way too much time rebuilding these to treat them shabbily), or the kids have something major going on. In the summer, I ride every thing else. There are currently 65 bikes in my household. Enough that I had to rent a storage shed for most of them. I have a disease, and I love every minute of it!

Thanks 10 wheels! I will try to post some pics when I get over to the shed if you're intrested. I realize that my type ofr commuting is far from the norm, I just happen to like the asthetics of old bikes, and with a town that is only three and a half miles across, I get the best of both worlds.

Here you go for better or worse.

My current winter work bike.

A Hercules that I was working on till I ran into a part problem.

Some more of my bikes, along with a photo of my 1800's ladies crescent no. 10. Enjoy!

And I thought I had a lot of bikes.
There's no such thing as too many bikes! N+1! N+1! N+1! N+1! N+1! N+1! N+1! N+1! N+1! AND NEVER N - 1.

Welcome to bikeforums from the golden state!

Thanks Leukybear, I would say the same, except for the time involved in the rebuild process. I some days wonder If l'll ever get done! On that note, would anybody have an idea where I could find a Sturmey Archer SC or SC-1 rear hub in good condition? The one I have has alot of pitting when I took it apart. Thanks in advance!

I have a bunch of projects in different stages of build too. That's a good question you have, it would a great question to ask in the Classic & vintage subforum, which you'll seem to fit right in!
