Greetings!

First ill repost my first post on a different thread:

First post so bear with me lol.... Plan is to do a touring trip in late May/early June in the Baltics. First time flying overseas with my own bike. Im planning on simply packing the bike (Specialized Sirrus 2009) in shrink wrap/bubble wrap and then putting it in a large mattress bag or an official CTC plastic bike bag. Obviously will remove pedals, turn handlebars parallel to frame and deflate tires. Ive flown like this several times from outside the US to other countries but never from the US.... Should I be anticipating any problems? Tried doing some research and everyone seems to be flying with their disassembled bikes in cases from here. In Europe plastic bags are pretty common actually so that the bikes arrive fully assembled and youre ready to go right from the airport. Anyways any info you guys may offer will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

So as you see I ride a Specialized Sirrus here at home (NY). It's a hybrid which im going to attempt to use as a touring bike to go to the Baltics. Ive ridden in Laos, Thailand, Gothenburg-London, and most recently Berlin-Prague. Only really got into biking the past couple of years but clearly im hooked. If any of you can offer advice on the issue raised above Ill be very grateful. Happy riding!

Howdy! I travel a bit and always try to get my hands on a bike
whenever I can. In the Philippines, I ended up buying a low end
mountain bike($40 brand new) and left it there when it was time
to go. In Holland, I was able to borrow a bike from a friend of a
friend. In China I brought my own bike in my luggage. In Georgia(US),
I rented a bike. In California, I borrowed a bike. So, you have a
few options to choose from
