Hello from Northwest England, UK
Hi there,
Looking at the posts on this forum, there don't seem to be many from my part of the world - Lancashire, near Preston.
I have two bikes at the moment, an old friend of mine died recently and gave me his bike a few weeks before. My original bike is a cheap as chips vietnamese built Claud Butler Classic, with 6060 alloy frame, 21 indexed gears and basic bits. It seems to suit me well. The one I was so kindly given is a 1990s Raleigh Gemini 18 built of Reynolds 531 tubing and with nice Shimano Biopace chainset. It's very sweet to ride, and I can't decide between them.
Does anyone here know these bikes at all?
I started cycling as a young boy on a Dawes racing style, 10 gears, in the late 60's, which got abused and modified with fixed wheel and covered many miles. I oiled it to death, washing out the grease until the wear got too much.
