new from iowa

hello all,
im 39 male married with 3yr and 6mo old red headed girls. live in iowa and last year started talking to my wife about a new bike. she doesnt ride but im trying slowly to get her into biking as a family. she grew up on an iowa farm and is an animal lover. we have 1 rabbit, 2 cats, 3 dogs, 6 mini horses, and chickens(love fresh eggs). did lots of research online about bikes for bike paths, gravel, pulling child trailers, ect. ended up last year buying a 2010 kona jake from the broken spoke bike shop in iowa city. great shop with cats and they buy fresh eggs from us. i grew up riding and would like to get back into it, maybe do party or charity rides and ultimatly do ragbrai, along with teaching my family the joys of bicycles.

If you lived a bit closer, I'd be buying fresh eggs from you as well. Welcome to the forum.

Hi Rlyhwk, good to have an Iowa rider aboard here. Getting the family involved in cycling with you will be time well invested. Look around at the various forums and find some that will fill your needs and participate here with us. Eggs, Mmmmmm, our neighbor supplies our needs from her hens, have at least 2 a day for breakfast and in omelets anytime. best of luck in your family cycling.
