A new cyclist in Philly

Hey everyone! I'm a 27 year old chiropractor in the Philly area. I've loved riding a bike since childhood but I would classify myself as only recently wanting to become a "cyclist." I've had a few memorable, formative moments in my span of cycling like when I realized how silly I was for riding my bike on the sidewalk or realizing, as a kid, that I could actually go places with my bike instead of simply using it for leisurely cruises.

I'm here because I'm looking to increase my knowledge and my aptitude on a bike on everything from riding know-how to the local cycling community to bike maintenance to organized riding and whatever else I might learn.

I ride 1 of 2 hybrid bikes, with no updates or customizations. I've had the Trek 820 for the longest but I mostly ride the Diamondback insight now that I'm in Philly and doing more dedicated road riding.

Hi Backdoc, welcome to BF. WE have several forums you might find interesting, the Hybrid, Mechanics and Regional Forum for your area can all add to your cycling knowledge and answer any questions you might have. Best of luck in your cycling involvement and life.

Welcome. I am also new here and from Philly. Check out BCP. (Bicycle Club of Philadelphia) they do group rides. They have their schedule on their website.
