Finally get to ride again
I used to ride road and mountain quite a bit, along with commuting daily on a single speed. For the last few years, I've been working in remodeling, so I couldn't commute, and the job and kids, etc leave me too tired or busy to ride the rest of the time. I'm about to make a pretty major life shift, and I'll be commuting on my bike again.
Last time I commuted, I had a SS that I absolutely loved. It was a 1985 Trek 600 frame that I turned SS. It was a joy to ride. Unfortunately, it was stolen. Lucky for me, I just found a 70s Schwinn Le Tour at a garage sale across the street from me with new wheels and a flip flop hub. I'm in the process of getting it road ready (brakes, levers, cables, handlebars, seat, tires, fenders, rack). Fortunately I have much of what it needs. The biggest thing I need is a new lock. It will be parked at a large university during the day, and I'd rather not lose another one. At any rate, I'm happy to be riding again, and this seems like a nice community. |
Hello Dankev, welcome to BF. Glad to know that your are able to return to cycling. Try the Commuting Forum and see if they have a quality lock to recommend. Post some build pictures in the SS/FG Forum so others can see your bike as it progresses.
