New here from Texas
I bought my first bicycle since childhood last Fall. A 2013 Trek Madone 2.1. Loved the bike. Unfortunately, I had a bike accident a couple of weekends ago during a triathlon avoiding a truck that wasn't supposed to be there and the bike got damaged more than me. I got severely bruised butt muscles after landing on my head then both butt muscles at the same time. I'm on the way to 100% recovery.
I posted in the Racing forum about shopping for a replacement bike. Looking to get back to riding after two weeks off. I'll be doing group rides and training for another triathlon. Sticking with a road bike due to training and group rides take up a higher percentage usage than actual triathlon races.

Sorry about the accident. Hope you heal fast. Can't help but wonder if you ever considered mt biking? A lot less traffic, if you don't mind the different style of riding.

Dallas area. I'm sticking with a road bike. I can use it for group rides and triathlons.

I really don't have any interest in a mountain bike. I'll stick to the roads. Living in Dallas, I see more opportunities for riding on roads and paved bike trails.
