New from La Coruņa, Spain

Hi everyone. Well, I´ve had my Btwin Rockrider 5.4 for about 8 months now and I´ve been mainly using it to comute to work. 3.86 km there and another 3.60 to get back home. Lately, I have managed to take my interest in Formula 1 and kinda have some fun applying it to my bike route. For me, every km is a "sector" and the mobile app I have tells me if I´m behind or ahead of target time. These time trials are so much fun for me beacause everytime i beat my record (currently 8min 45sec for 3.86km to work) i figure out a way to chop some more time off the route somehow. I had a close call one time when i left the house with over inflated tyres. Surely, this improved my speed but at around the 3rd curve I skidded right at the apex and almost took a dive. So now i keep tyre pressure never over 80 psi. At any rate, I dont consider myself an expert when it comes to bikes but I sure do have fun riding them..I hopeto learn a lot here. Thanx

Hello Fran,

Welcome to Bike Forums.

What size of tires do you have on your fast bike?

The lighthouse is called La Torre de Hercules (Tower of Hercules). Supposedly..Hercules is burried under it.
Hence the skull and bones in the town shield.

Never heard of that brand.

Heavy bikes are good to keep you rolling once you get up to speed.

Have fun with it.

Hello, welcome to BF, unusual commute strategy you have there. Btwin is mainly European in their sales structure, I've read a few tests on them (their road bikes) and they stacked up fairly well. Only a few in the states that I've heard about. Best of luck with your sectors and personal bests on the commute.
