Hello,
I'm brand new but decided a hybrid/fitness bike would be great to get some exercise. I'm not ready for drop bars. I want something I can get a workout on but also works for rides around the block with my 5 y/o (she loves riding her two wheeler)
I didn't want to jump right into the deep end so I started looking around for a good used bike.
Last week I was able to pick up a super clean 2005 Trek 7300 FX for $160.00
It's an older bike but it's still cheaper than something new at Walmart and it's a decent bike. Brought to my LBS to have them look it over and they said it was in nice shape and a good buy at that price.
I've been out for a couple of 10mi rides and thus far very happy.
Ideally I'll ride this for a year or two and then upgrade to something new maybe a new Trek 7.xx

Thanks

Good choice, though if you already like the 7300, don't see the need to buy a new Trek hybrid. Comparing the '05 Treks with the current models, you would need to spend $800 for a 7.4 Fx to get much of an upgrade over your 7300, and the main upgrades are, 9 speed instead of 8 speed shifters and rear derailleurs, and carbon fiber fork instead of cro moly fork. Nice things to have, but maybe not to the tune of $800.

Thanks for the warm welcome

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome. I also appreciate the reassurance that my Trek was a good purchase.
Thanks again.
