Hi From North St. Louis County, MO

Hi Bikers,

I am Manny Rodriguez from Florissant, MO.

I ride a Teal Bianchi Racing Bike (about 1989 model) and love it. Definitely a classic!

I love fitness and biking is a top priority for me. Looking to get into some group rides and try to bike year round. Would like to get 2 more bikes one snow and cold season and an upgraded new road bike.

Looking forward to my 44 mile bike ride today. Missouri is HILLY and I'm working on getting stronger.

Look forward to connecting,

Manny

Welcome from just across the Mississippi River over in Belleville Illinois.

Check out the Bicycle Fun Club / Trailnet rides at trailnet.org .

STLBiking.com has rides listed; however, it's more about racing.

If you don't want hills, there's the Katy Trail. You probably don't want to take your Bianchi on it. Something with fatter tires works better plus you don't want to mess up a nice Bianchi. FYI: Your Bianchi isn't teal. It's color is Celeste. It's one of the most iconic colors in bicycling.

It's also really flat over near Portage de Sioux and Hwy 94. Wind can be a problem though.

I believe that there's a nice bike path near Sunset Park. Creve Couer Park has some good bike paths.

If you really want to get adventurous, there's a great collection of bike paths over in the Metro East. One of the best places to start is the trailhead behind the Culver's Restaurant on Hwy 157 in Collinsville. Just off Interstate 70.

Thank you for all the welcomes!

Jerry! This is some great information!

There are bike groups that ride in Belleville and I'm hoping to join them sometime. I don't have a car right now so I can't commit to go with a group.

I ride 80-100 miles a week so hoping when I finally go with the group hopefully I can keep up for 30 miles or so.

I've been on Katy Trail before but definitely not very comfortable on it because it is kind of gravel.

My long rides are from Florissant to Chesterfield for racquetball practice then back. About 44 miles ride trip and I do this twice a week. My goal is to make the trip faster and faster. So far my quickest time is 1 hour 35 minutes there and lots of hills (in my opinion).

Portage de Sioux and 94? That sounds like something to check out! Thanks!

Manny
