Hello from Stockholm!
Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in here and briefly present myself to all of you. I am a 48 year old university professor originally from Ottawa, Canada but now living and working in Stockholm, Sweden. I just recently sold my Scott Aspect 30 MTB that I found no longer suited my purposes (I want to begin commuting to work 25km each way) so I then purchased a hybrid (some of the paths I take are a bit rough but include long stretches of paved road). My new bike arrives in the next couple of days and it's a BMC Alpenchallenge AC01 Alivio/Deore. I hope to be on the forum quite often even if I don't post that much initially and I really look forward to getting to know you all and learning from you.

Welcome to BF and enjoy your commuting on that new bike! My father was from Malmo and I remember stories about how temperate the fall is over there. Get in all the miles you can before winter hits!

Thanks (Tack) Juha and Lacumo! I lived in Malmö myself for a spell before moving across (and up) to Stockholm. I prefer Malmö personally and eventually I may move back there. I may try to do as many do here and bike throughout the winter months. Here in Sweden, it's legal to have studded tires on both bikes and cars and the amount of snowfall is nowhere near my native (and beloved) Ottawa.
