Raleigh with Brooks Flyer

Greetings, I'm Drew from Kentucky. I live in Bowling Green and am a student at WKU. I fixed up my dad's 1978 Raleigh Record Ace. It has all original parts, even cables are original. I recently ordered a Brooks Flyer saddle after a two week debate on either that or the B17 standard. I currently have a sprung Serfas saddle that is way past it's expiration date. People obviously swear by Brooks products, but I am having trouble finding anyone who uses a Flyer on a road bike with drop handlebars. My saddle and handlebar heights are about even, which is why I thought the sprung saddle would be beneficial. Does anyone have experience using a Brooks Flyer on a road bike with drop handlebars? I'm excited to receive it in the mail and start the painful (metaphorically but hopefully not much physically) break in period. Any input would be appreciated and am happy to find a forum with so many bike enthusiasts.

Welcome to BF! A Brooks saddle on a '78 Raleigh Record Ace--Wow--that's a classic on top of a classic! For input on your bike/saddle quandary, you might better seek ideas in the Classic and Vintage forum. Good luck with it.
