Hello
After getting back into riding a bike after a twenty something year break I have consistently stumbled into this forum in my internet searches. I figured I might as well join.
I retired from the military at the end of May. I was puzzled by the 20 pounds I gained in two months (not really, hahaha). I had a 1994 Trek 930 Singletrack MTB in the garage a former roommate had given me years ago when he deployed. I blew the dust off of it, tuned up a few things and have been riding it for about a month and a half. I love it and I don't know why it took me this long to rediscover bicycling.
The bug to go faster and farther has bitten me so I picked up a 1988 Trek 400T the other day for $70. The frame was the right size and the only thing it really needed was a seat and tuneup. I like to tinker and I like putting used stuff back into service so I'll grease up the bearings, replace the seat, tweak a few things and start riding it. It's sort of fun because I can remember doing my bicycle wheel bearings and using a spoke wrench back in junior high school.
Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I'll probably use the search function to answer my questions most of the time. Thanks for such an useful resource.
