Wannabe sprint cyclist from TN
Hello All,
I'm a 23 year old Masters student from Johnson City, TN (originally from near Dallas, TX) and am considering going into sprint cycling. I have a background in American football, track (sprinting), skeleton, and Olympic weightlifting. I want to pursue sprint cycling because it's very short, explosive, and tactical which is what I like about competitive sports. Even though I have zero experience in cycling, I want to use this forum to help me gain a better understanding of the sport and eventually compete in it.
I plan on moving back to Dallas, TX when I finish school here in TN. I would love to start racing in the Frisco Superdrome someday.
Cheers!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Fastfingaz, I do not have a bike right now. So far I've just been doing bike sprints along with weightlifting movements like squat, olympic lifts, etc. to train for the sport. I do plan on buying a bike soon along with training rollers. I don't have a velodrome anywhere near my current location in East TN, but I'm sure the least I could do is train to get bigger, stronger, and faster until I start competing in the sport and work on certain skills for racing.
