Hey i'm Fredie
Hey, for starters i'm a 16 year old boy from Puerto Rico. I honestly don't know what else to say here, so i apologize if the rest of the post would correspond to some other sub forum. Like I said, i'm a 16 year old living in puerto rico. I'm 5'4 - 5'5 and i'm dancing between 105 - 115 pounds. I'm posting because i'm interested in to getting in to road racing and i'd like some advice. Should i start out with a fixie and gradually upgrade it to a road racer or should I buy a road racer, if so do you have any suggestions as to which I should buy and or how big it should be? If you have anything else to suggest, i'd appreciate it.
Welcome Fredie!! You'll find a wealth of info here on the Bike Forums.
Not knowing what you have at your access, you should ride what's available to you. As your interest grows, you'll find opportunities to upgrade your equipment as your skills grow and interests become specific.
New fixies can be less expensive than new road bikes, but, used road bikes or fixed gear bikes are often the best value. If you're just getting started, read up on the bike fitting section of these forums to come up with the size bike you'll need. The fixed or multi-geared choice depends on the terrain and/or the intended purpose.
Welcome again & happy riding!
