My name is Mat and I'm a 26 year old male who has recently got back into cycling. Growing up I used to bike all the time, then I got a car and a job, and then grew up. Years later I decided I wanted to get active again. I bought a cheap bike from Walmart and hated it. It was painful to ride so I gave up on it within a week. A couple of years later my wife decided to start biking to take part in a race with her sister. This rekindled my interest in biking.
In September of this past year (2013) I decided to get fitted for and invest into a nice bike. I ended up with a black and red Trek FX 7.2 Disc (on the bottom of this pic).
Over the winter I invested in an indoor trainer so that I could stay in riding shape and work on my fitness during the cold and snowy months.
As I progressed on the trainer, I decided to map out some of my routes using Strava. This lead me to want to do a lot more longer road rides. I started looking at endurance road bikes and, this past weekend, decided on a Trek Domane 4 series carbon bike. I get the bike within the next week or two, and I cannot wait.
So that's my story. I'm stoked to be back into riding. It's another thing my wife and I can do together on the weekends, and I have been invited to partake in the many group rides put on by the LBSs in my city.
