New to BikeForums

My name is Neri and I've been riding on and off for about 28 years, since high school. More off than on but lately, the past 10 years, I've been more serious about it. I live in Long Beach, CA and enjoy getting out there on the many sunny days we have here. I have a lot of experience buying and riding bikes and am looking to this forum to find more information on the things I don't know as well as offer any advice I can to help others.

I'm going on 44 now and can't really ride like I used to but I try to keep a high pace for myself when I get out there. Even when I intend to just go for a cruise I find myself picking up the pace. There are always people faster though. I always find myself riding alone caught in the middle of the pack. I can latch onto an advanced group and keep up with them for a bit before getting dropped and yet I'm usually faster than a more beginner group so I rarely run into a group on the road that is the same pace. So, if you're out there I'd like to meet up and ride. Right now I ride a Masi Evoluzione and have a Globe Daily 1 to cruise about town. I have to limit it so the wife doesn't get on me about too many bikes. I've owned many road bikes over the time like the Specialized Tarmac, Giant TCR, BMC SL01, and many more going way back to my Peugeot in the mid 80s. I've followed racing all my life and still love to watch the grand tours, day classics, as well as the Tour of CA. So, that's a little of where I'm coming from. Feel free to contact me with any questions or shop talk. Ride safe.
