    Just sticking with protocol...

Hi, My name is Dean (sounds so AA). Having been bike riding for about a year now, I am increasingly aware of how much I have to learn about it. To that end, I will be posting some questions elsewhere herein. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks for the great web site.

Who is this General Failure anyway, and why is he reading my drive?

“HI DEAN” (groaningly uttered obligatory 12-step meeting response...) ...shift gears--out of the trance and back to the real world... Welcome to BF! The “meeting” here is when you get on your bike and go for a ride. I do solo rides in the countryside or on rails-to-trails riverside blacktopped paths, so my rides tend to be real “communing with nature” type experiences. On nice days with the right weather (which hasn’t happened for a few months right now), it can get to be a Buddhist-like meditative experience. I’ve done decades of meetings (volunteer FD, *** club, PTO, sales/marketing, business management, etc ad infinitum) and my cycling “meetings” are the best I’ve ever experienced. Plus---I don’t have to listen to any ______s (fill in the blank with the descriptive term of your choice) running their mouths. This is as good as it gets. Enjoy it!
