As well as getting into cycling for the first time since I got out of college, in 1981, I also find out i qualify as a 'Clydesdale'; over 200 lbs! Now that's funny! True, but funny!
Several years ago my daughters got me a (I think) pretty good road bike, looks like a heavy duty frame, and now is the season to get back on it. Also have been working to fix up a daughter's bike for the wife to ride; chain was all rusted frozen from rust (grrrr) but a new one one, and everything else seems to work OK.
I'm gettin' excited about this; there have been a lot of changes in bikes since then. Was in one shop getting that chain & saw there are now hydraulic disk brakes WHOA!!!!!! COOLNESS!!!
Big thing now is some incipient tendonitis & ankle issues on the right side; a little arthritis in the ankle, and the subsequent funny walk leads to tendonitis on the outside of the leg. An ankle brace and antiimflammatories help, but what else can i do to get rid of it?

Welcome to Bike Forums. You also qualify for the 50+ forum (I'm guessing you're over 50) and the Southeast Regional subforum. We have several NC members in both forums. I'm in both forums, living in FL and being 69 y/o.
Now, where is the info about the bikes and the obligatory pictures of same?
When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking. — Arthur Conan Doyle
