Checking in from Seattle

Hello! Brand new to the site and to the world of cycling, so I'm hoping to lurk here for a while and soak up some knowledge. :) I have a mtb that I don't ride much because there are no trails in the vicinity, and am looking to pick up a road bike in the near future. Still trying to figure out what fits my needs.

Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself and say hello!

hey Chris,
Another Seattle guy here.
My personal opinion- just get a hybrid bike this city has so much traffic that a road bike is not as fun as a do it all hybrid.

Welcome to BF! Visit a few local bike shops and do some window shopping and info gathering. They should be able to match you with something that fits your body, budget and intended riding style and needs. A hybrid will definitely be more comfort-oriented but a touring bike with wider tires will also be comfort-oriented and a lot more efficient on longer distance rides. Good luck with your hunt.
