Hello from the Pleasant Hill
Hey all,
I'm very new to the biking scene.
I just traded a 1983 Stumpjumper that I had laying around for a 1980 (I believe, based on the SN) Azuki Gran Sport 12. I don't expect I got the best deal on it, cause the Stumpjumper appears to be sought after. But, I didn't feel like buying a road bike then selling the Stumpjumper and dealing with all of that
My goal is mostly to commute to and from work (~8 miles) by starting out to from the BART station (~2.4). I will probably do a little bit of recreational riding as well, but probably not until I get up to speed
I'm also trying to learn whatever I need to know to get maintain the bike on my own. In the past I would just take my bikes to the bike shop for everything. Which was kind of strange considering I do all my own car maintenance (I have a Mazda Miata, and previously a MK1 VW Rabbit Convertible).
Here's the bike (in it's pre-adjusted state):
I really like the blue and now that I've gotten everything adjusted it's really nice to ride around. Still adjusting the bike and working on my posture though because initially I was having a _ton_ of wrist pain. The seat was tilted very far forward and was way too high. I also changed it around so I'm resting on the outside of my wrist rather than the middle or inside. Much better, though I'm still feeling it a little bit.
