New Old Guy
Hello all.
Dad bought me a Motobecane Jubilee Sport for my B Day in '84. Loaned it out to a bud one nite and never saw it again.
Now I'm in my 40's and can fix the SH*& from back in the day.
So... I called the 80's and said I want my bike back! (Ebay)
I found this in Cali! 80% factory. I'm gonna leave patine but will replace whats not original. (Except for those BLUE molded rubber hand grips and blue seat!)
I'm pretty knowledgeable on this model, so if anybody needs help or info, shoot me an email.
Rob

welcome to bf and welcome back to bicycles.
I understand the tendency of people in your situation to want the same bike they had when they were kids but, bicycles have come a long way in 30 years.
sure many people love the old school feel of steel and enjoy the righteous feeling of a classic and vintage lifestyle but, modern bicycling is quite impressive. Between the superior frame materials and greatly improved shifting options (all my personal opinion) Ill bet you will have less issues and have more fun on a brand new steed.
$60 k on the truck, 2k on a bicycle is a drop in the bucket. just my thoughts.
have fun and be safe ie. helmet, gloves, and lights.
