Hello from Dayton, Ohio
I am a longtime cyclist and Dayton Cycling Club officer who wishes she could ride more. Unfortunately, sometimes motherhood and other responsibilities get in the way. Yeah, I'm a soccer mom; 'nuff said. Lately, though, I have been using the soccer games as a way to train. Husband drives daughter to game in time for warmups while I bike to the game. If the game ends too close to sunset, we put the bike in the car for the trip home. Otherwise, they drive and I ride.a
I'm looking forward to the day when I can take my daughter on a ride across the country. I fondly remember my Northern Tier tour with BikeCentennial in 1987 and want my daughter to experience America the same way. For now, our annual weeklong trip on the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure will have to do.
My favorite bike is a tandem, whether I'm riding stoker with hubby in the front or riding captain with daughter, niece or a nephew in the back. I tend to ride road bikes. I used my mountain bike for commuting to work for many years because it better handled the challenges of potholes, glass, construction, etc. Now that she's big enough, m daughter uses the MTB. I love watching her ride off to school on it every morning.
I'm glad I found you.
